I am requesting a quote for the translation of a 75-page two-act theatrical drama about Nikola Tesla from English into Russian.
There are approximately 8 pages of blank verse that require a translator who knows how to write iambic pentameter in the Shakespearean style. The translator of the blank verse lines must have an understanding of 1) blank verse meter 2) the proper number of feet in a line 3) iambs and trochees and caesuras, etc., and 4) the ability to perform occasional rhyming.
There is also a four-page song sung by THOMAS EDISON, Act II, Scene 4, which requires the proper 1) meter and 2) rhyming of the verse lines.
The play is in playwriting format (.odt files -- Open Office files) and must remain in exactly the format it is written. No format changes can occur. All text must be replaced (not added), and no paragraph additions or deletions can be made.
The play has previously been translated by private translators into Serbian, Croatian, and Ukrainian.
I am looking for a poetic soul whose command of both English and Russian is superb. Familiarity with theatrical terms is also essential.
Thank you in advance for your quote for a poetic, precise, properly formatted translation from English into Russian.
If you have never successfully written Shakespearean-style blank verse, this project is not for you.
